Century

It may have been a long time coming
But it won't be long now
What all the Saints and Apostles yearned for
Any day now
Are the children sleeping
Still like babies in their beds?
All the innocents are waking
Wiping away the dreams from their eyes
Wipe all the sadness from my eyes
Are the mothers ready
For their time has come at last
Set up the pillars, Father,
For the time's approaching fast
It may have been a long time coming
But it won't be long now
What all the prophets have always begged for
Any day now
The years melt like wax under the hot sun
The tears just evaporate
The sad smiles lose their meaning
And laughter just rings in our ears
Like the echo of a tin drum...
